House Concerts
If you have space for 20 or more guests, you can host a house concert - an intimate musical setting with an interactive, educational, and compelling presentation of the stories behind our instruments and music. All you need is 20 or more contacts willing to buy tickets at $20 each, we can organize a memorable event in your home.
We set up custom promotions and online ticket sales. You provide guests and space. We deliver a concert presentation they will never forget.

Wedding Ceremony
One of the musicians can meet with you in advance to help you pick the selections for your day.

We can provide a sound system to make sure the ceremony is heard by all. Too often outdoor sound carries poorly, especially if the wind is blowing away from guest seating.
Violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano players to perform for your wedding march, signing ceremony, and grand exit.
The musicians will be there early for the prelude performance while your guests arrive and are seated.
Micro Weddings
Having a small private wedding of 4 to 25 people on a limited budget does not have to mean forgoing live music. A single musician provides music, sound, audio recording, and even simple video recording. When working with a keyboard, clarinet, saxophone, and flute it is possible to perform and loop accompaniment tracks. Include a sound system and microphone if needed, and record the audio and video on an iPad pro. By combining services to one source you can make your dreams a reality even in these times. Parades
The Dr. Jazz band is are mobile and acoustic. Performing a mix of traditional and modern funky New Orleans music their groove makes the audience want to move, sing along, clap and dance. For nearly 4 decades Dr. Jazz has performed throughout the Ottawa region for Prime Ministers, The Ottawa Jazz festival, and many corporate and private events. For the last decade, we have been doing numerous store openings, anniversaries, promotions, weddings, festivals, and parades.
The NorthWest Mounted Strolling Dixieland Band in uniform is available for events of an international nature that qualify. If you are interested in this group I can put you in touch with the RCMP officer responsible for coordinating this specific group.
Corporate Promotions
Art shows, store openings, client BBQs. I can't count how many Second Cup, Loblaws, Loebs, LCBOs, and such we have performed for. We can provide music from opening to closing with one group, or rotate two different ensembles.

The upper Video is taken live from a Loblaws opening, 7 am performance. Our earliest-ever gig was a 5 am downbeat for a United Way breakfast for the staff of the Royal Canadian Mint Before the morning shift started.
Fundraisers
We have performed for the United Way, Boys and Girls Club, Christmas cheer breakfast, hospital fundraisers, and many other such functions.
We have The Dr. Jazz Band, Jazz and Classical duos and trios, The Big Bands, and a solo pianist. Depending on your theme and budget, we can help you deliver a theme for your fundraising event.
The video clip is from one of my favourite casual gigs. Clay Young and I have performed jazz brunches in Perth for the last 15 years. Our CD "Live at Fiddleheads" comes from recording four Sunday brunches and selecting the best from the collective 12hrs of recorded live music.
Dance

Dr Jazz Band
FESTIVE AUTHENTIC "NEW ORLEANS" MUSIC
PROMOTIONS, PARADES, SPECIAL EVENTS.
Dr. Jazz brings a wide variety of musical influences into its basic groove of funky, contemporary New Orleans street music, including rhythm and blues, swing, Latin, dixie, pop, and reggae. The group has a 20-year history of being one of the busiest and hottest small bands in Ottawa, eastern Ontario, and western Quebec. We have performed for jazz and blues festivals, conventions, corporate promotions, special events, dances, private parties, weddings, and parades. We have been very active on the club scene.
Dr. Jazz is led by reedman Dave Renaud, who plays clarinet, saxophones, flute, and bass clarinet. The quartet also features Art Katona on trombone, Paul Cheatley on banjo and guitar, and Bob Langley on sousaphone and string bass. We all have many years of experience playing in the idiom, and we love to entertain people.
The band has an exciting combination of sounds and does lots of vocals. We have developed a more contemporary groove than most traditional bands. Audiences of all ages find the music infectious and danceable. Clients are impressed by the band’s flexibility and diversity in numerous live music settings. Dr. Jazz is basically an acoustic band (no electronic instruments) that can perform on stage or be mobile, indoors or out.
